It’s now easier for East Bay residents to experience San Francisco nightlife!
On December 9, 2014, AC Transit and BART launched a one-year pilot program enhancing late night bus service between San Francisco and the East Bay on Friday and Saturday nights.
As part of the pilot, the existing Line 800 (between San Francisco and Richmond BART) will see increased frequency between 12:30am and 2:30am on Friday and Saturday nights, with buses arriving every 20 minutes. A new route, Line 822, will operate between San Francisco and Pittsburg/Bay Point BART from 1am to 2am on the weekends, with buses running every 30 minutes.
The pilot’s weekend bus routes will begin in San Francisco at 24th Street/Mission BART, stopping at 16th Street/Mission BART before continuing onto Market Street and to the East Bay.
Visit AC Transit’s web site for more information about the enhanced late night bus service, including route maps and schedules. 511.org offers a trip planner as well as information about all of the late night and early morning public transportation options in the Bay Area.
